World's Longest Field Goal- Robot vs NFL Kicker

This framework I learned from youtuber Mark Rober.

B - Brainstorm

R - Research

P - Prototype

F - Final Build

Brainstorm

Brainstorm is about going wide, and covering as much of the map as we can. Coming up with as much ideas as possibly, quantity > quality. Research Research is where we slim down a bit, and learn more about what’s out there, what’s already been done, and start narrowing down on potential solutions to our problem. Prototype Another word for prototype might be “minimally viable product” (MVP). The idea here is to get a simple first version out, or a version that is very easily tweakable and changeable. This way as an engineer we can scientifically test and isolate certain features to measure changes vs performance.

Final Build

After tweaking and gathering data from the prototype phase, this is where we put what we learned and put together a final build, finding the global optimum in the solution space.
