Speed reading is a way to take in information in less time.

The main lessons to speed-read is:

  1. Don’t subvocalize
  2. Don’t re-read
  3. Different topics require different speeds

To start, use a finger or pen to point at where to look while reading. This prevents re-reading. To remove sub-vocalization, try counting 1-5 while reading.

After a while, it becomes speed-reading feels like skimming to get content.

Read a book like a map. Start at table of contents to get an idea, read the first paragraph and last paragraph of each chapter, skim the rest.

Sometimes when it comes to articles, I find myself reading from end to front, starting at the conclusion and then going back to find the support.
